Shine a Light

Shine a Light On Your Creative Community

Looking for a meaningful way to uplift local creatives and show the vibrancy of your creative community? CreativeGround offers a number of ways that you can share your knowledge and help the profiles you know look extra shiny. You can suggest edits to profiles you know, helping to make sure they are an accurate reflection of the vibrancy of your local creative scene; and nominate folks to share their stories through spotlights across digital platforms; and share your own!

(Check out some of the profiles currently in the Spotlight on the homepage and the profiles sharing their CreativeGround Journeys for inspiration.)

Anyone can submit a suggested edit to any public profile on CreativeGround. We welcome and highly encourage users to suggest edits to profiles as a way to build community-sourced knowledge, and to provide real-time visibility into the New England Creative Economy Network. If everyone is represented accurately, then you increase visibility, funding opportunities, and other resources for the artists and organizations you care about.

While NEFA works year-round to review and verify the data in CreativeGround, we can’t tell the full story of your community without you. It’s your on-the-ground insight that makes the platform truly reflect your local creative scene. Together, we can paint a more vivid picture of our region’s creative communities.

When to Suggest an Edit

Common examples include telling us if a profile has gone out of business or is no longer active, if the name or address of an organization has changed, or any other inaccurate or outdated information. Once submitted, an administrator will review the suggested edit and update the profile information appropriately.

How to Suggest an Edit

Watch the video

  1. SEARCH: Visit creativeground.org and click Search. Adjust filters to narrow down to profiles in your community and scroll through the results.
  2. SELECT: Scroll through the results, select profiles, and find ones that need correction
  3. SUGGEST:  Click “Suggest an edit” on any profile, complete the “Submit a Suggestion” online form and send

NEFA features a wide variety of profiles on the CreativeGround homepage through the Spotlights, Journeys, and blog posts – this brings visibility and connects others to their work, as well as inspires and builds others’ knowledge about New England’s Creative Economy. You can help!

Nominate a CreativeGround Profile for the Spotlight

You can nominate a CreativeGround profile (yours or someone else’s) to be featured on the site, and/or in CreativeGround promotional materials (print, social media, email, etc.).

To get a Profile into the queue to be featured:

  1. Ensure the public profile is robust. A good guide is to follow these tips and tricks to have a high profile score—generally the more thoroughly the fields are filled out, the higher the profile score. Visit the Profile Tips page for more on Profile Scores and how to level up.
  2. Once the profile is updated, submit a webform to nominate a profile to be highlighted on the site, the blog, or social media. You will have the option to provide details on what you might share—whether a story about using the platform, lessons learned working in the creative economy, or conversations you want to have with your CreativeGround community.
