Wood, Wind and Wire draws on five centuries of flute and guitar music, playing pieces from the Renaissance through the present day, including original compositions. The duo, which features flutist Eileen Yarrison and guitarist Jamie Dunphy, has been been performing at libraries, schools and concert venues since the spring of 2004. In June of 2006, the group was selected to perform "Canyon Echoes" at a one-day festival, held in Littleton, MA, celebrating the works of composer/flutist Katherine Hoover. Recent performances at the Nashua Public Library and Northern Essex Community College have found the group augmenting their sound with the inclusion of traverso (Baroque flute), pennywhistle and mandolin. Future plans include a full-length CD of works by contemporary American composers.
The duo is available for public and private performances, as well as workshops on instrument history, masterclasses and private lessons. Demo CDs are available upon request.
