I am a professional artist, art educator, costume/set designer, art director in film.  My art and blog (www.s-amuse.com) look at specific relationships about human identity. My projects explore the relationship between artifice and the ‘natural’ at the intersections of cloth, the body, science and technology in solo and collaborative based projects.

With performance and ‘dress’ I re-imagine identity in the relationships between the fantasy and the real. The character carries the message, the plot is the material and the story unravels like a poem.

I teach a variety of Art Studios and Art History at Norwich University. I started a Costume Design Department at Norwich where I teach Costume Design. My teaching practice encourages personal research around 'identity' and the meaningful benefits of creative practice to society and culture at large.

I am schooled with a BFA and an MFA in studio art along with Cutting Edge Design in Fashion, Costume/Set Design at Central Saint Martins in London and at Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC. I exhibit world wide in art fairs, galleries and museums along with a recipient of awards in teaching and art practice.
