SuperKava Music Ensemble

SuperKava- A unique combination of flute guitar and percussion that brings improvisatory and innovative sounds to its listeners. Borrowing from folk, jazz, Latin, classical and rock influences, the three members of SuperKava collaboratively produce a multifaceted collection of songs.

Rebecca Jeffreys, flutist, is based near Boston, Massachusetts. She holds a B.M. degree and Performance Certificate from the Crane School of Music and Master's Degree in performance from Catholic University. Currently, she is an active flute teacher at her Pepperell, MA studio and adjunct professor of flute at St. Anselm College in Manchester, N.H. In March Rebecca toured England with the St. Anselm Choir performing in Bath Abbey, Baliol Chapel at Oxford and Holy Trinity Church in Stratford-Upon-Avon. She has released three solo albums. "Poems and Dreams" (2016) features 5 new works for flute and piano. Alexander Timofeev on the piano. Composers include Adrienne Albert, Francis Kayali, Kevin W. Walker, Russell Nadel and Jeffrey Hoover. Works from this album and are being played on numerous radio stations throughout Canada, South America, New Zealand and the USA. Her latest album, "Friends in Common Time," (2018) features works by Kayali, Albert, Kutt, Machajdik, Brevik, Caplet, Walker and Timofeev.

Mike Loce, from the city of Revere, Massachusetts, USA, has been living as a professional musician since 1994. After college, the desire to create original music and to achieve high levels on his instrument took precedence in Mike’s life. He abandoned the way he’d previously done things and set out on an inspired Loce Course of both musical and philosophical development. Through years of odd jobs, finally all employment appeared in the field of guitar in 2000 with Parker Guitars, a technical position. Mike then appeared with musical troupes such as Boston Rock Opera, and for four years he supported and helped develop a small online company called Personal Guitar School/Learn Music. Inc, later to become Sam Ash Music Institute. Other New England businesses that have hired Mike to help develop their vision of music education include Music Academy of Chelmsford, TLP Music School, BLT Music School, HEI Music, Music Elements, and Nashua Community Music School. Throughout these years, Mike recorded a variety of compositions with many talented performers and musicians. Since 2009 the humble ukulele has made its way into his repertoire, as a request originally to teach it. A group called “THE UKESTRA” is a result of those efforts. Mike is a registered songwriter and music publisher with ASCAP. He works teaching guitar and ukulele in the Merrimack Valley of Massachusetts and New Hampshire, composing/arranging music, performing, and doing recording sessions.

Jen Spaziani lives and works in southern NH. She attended UMass Lowell as a music performance/audio engineering major before transferring to Full Sail University to complete her degree in audio engineering. She previously played drums with the all-originals NH band Barebones, and currently plays drums with Murphy's Blues and Babaray. For Jen, SuperKava is an exciting new foray into composing and arranging, and exploring the sounds and use of multiple percussion instruments, musical styles, and rhythms. Her signature "mini-kit" was created just for this group.
