O'HANLEIGH

O'hAnleigh's Irish-American music hits home all over the world. Multi-instrumentalists and vocal talents Tom Hanley, Cindy Hill,  Becca Hanley and Matt Bean perform ancient Gaelic ballads, 1920's Irish-American sing-a-long songs, rousing pub tunes, and award-winning original compositions. "Full of passionionate energy and verve" (Media review, South Australia), the group performs at weddings and private parties, pubs and apres-ski venues, as well as concert halls, senior centers, church suppers, farmers markets, and nonprofit fundraising events. O'hAnleigh gives penny whistle and spoons-playing workshops as well as readings in Irish poetry, which is also incorporated into their musical performances. The group plays special all-acoustic historical programs of music of the 19th century civil war and Irish immigrant era. Their premier CD "Of Irish Crossings Told" plays world-wide with 'a fabulous variety of music, instruments and vocals...humour, depth, and fun!" (Celtic MP3 Music Magazine).

I Have Worked With

  • October 2019

O'hAnleigh participated in an afternoon event for the Framework Knitters Museum in Ruddington, UK in October 2019, including informal performances of historical music related to the museum in their garden and in the framework shop, as well as providing an afternoon fundraising concert for them of music related to Victorian era industry and the textiles trade. A video from this is included in our media listings.

  • October 2019

O'hAnleigh performed twice at the 2019 Ragged Bear Festival, an annual music festival in Nuneaton UK operated as a fundraiser for various environmental/wildlife causes. We played a pub set on Friday night and a main-stage performance on Saturday.

  • March 2019

Ongoing relationship with the Burlington Irish Heritage Festival. We have performed as part of the festival many years, and given workshops in pennywhistles, bodhrans bones and spoons. In March 2019 as in prior years we performed at a local music coffeehouse for the Burlington Irish Heritage Festival; in March 2020 we will be giving a featured major performance as part of the Festival at the FlynnSpace in Burlington.
