For 25 years M+Co has produced archival image research, history position papers, and editorial services for the media industry; M+Co offers stills and/or footage research and rights management for the publishing and film business; M+Co advises creative executives and enterprises—from authors and exhibit designers, to gallerists, musicians, non-profits.
M+Co’s principal, Melissa Totten, is a multiple Los Angeles area Emmy award-winning arts documentary producer, a past director of 20th Century Fox’s photography archive, and a published writer and editor of art monographs, essays and marketing and communications. She has an open mind, a broad range of interests, a sense of humor, and a skilled eye for just the right image or character that can bring a project to life.
Melissa Totten graduated magna cum laude from Wesleyan University (B.A.) and the University of Texas at Austin (M.A.) in American Studies. She pursued further training at the Buffalo Bill Historical Center, the Poynter Institute, and the George Eastman House.
