Magpie Puppets

FOR ADULTS: "Shadow Songs and Stories" is a new shadow puppet show created for performances in assisted living facilities, day programs, and senior centers.

FOR CHILDREN: Magpie Puppets performances involve children actively! With a magic chant, children change the scenery in "Moccasin Stew," and they teach Eeyore how to smile in "Eeyore's Birthday." They do aerobics with Mama Bear in "Goldilocks and the Three Bears." Performances include a guitar sing-along led by Maggie Whalen or a lively puppet demonstration. The "performers" are finely crafted hand puppets who bring new life to classic tales.

Maggie has appeared on the PBS Curious George episode entitled "Sock Monkey Opera" http://www.bufflehead.tv/cg/magpie.mov. Magpie Puppets puppetry workshops for children and adults are tailored to your needs. A pediatric occupational therapist, Maggie is able to adapt activities to suit an individual's skill level. In addition, Maggie creates custom-made puppets and props for theater, film, other puppeteers, or as unique gifts. She is a member of the Boston Area Guild of Puppetry and Puppeteers of America.
