Lyralen Kaye

Lyralen Kaye, SAG-AFTRA, AEA, is an intersectional, queer, social justice and award-winning playwright, poet, storyteller and screenwriter as well as a professional actress. She has a BA in English from the University of Arizona and an MFA in Theater from Sarah Lawrence College. In 2018 she won the Best in Fringe and Techie Best in Fringe for her solo show My Preferred Pronoun Is We at the San Francisco Fringe and was a finalist for the 2018 Soaring Solo Artist Award at the Hollywood Fringe (under the title Many Trump Refugees in One Body). In 2019 she was a finalist at the Moth Grand Slam in Boston after winning her first Moth Story Slam win and Boston Story Slam in 2017.

 

Lyralen’s plays have been produced throughout the United States. She won the Stanley and Eleanor Lipkin Prize in Playwriting and was a finalist for the Massachusetts Council of the Arts Awards for her play, My Mother and the Nun. She also won the Meryl Streep Screenwriters Lab for Saint John the Divine in Iowa, which was also a semi-finalist in the Pride Plays and Films Awards and a finalist for the Roy W. Dean award and the Blacklist Women in Film Lab.

 

She won the Amazon Poetry Slam Final and Super Slam Final and was on the women’s team. She also has a Pushcart nomination in fiction. She believes in radical inclusion and a badass comic approach to just about everything.
