Lon E Plynton is a Multi-instrumentalist, Composer, Recording Artist, Producer, Promoter, Entertainer, Entrepreneur and Educator. The force behind ventures such as Lion Eye productions and The New England Reggae Festival, he is a beloved music teacher at School One, Sophia Academy and the OCYL. A member of RISCA's teaching artists education roster, he originally became known internationally for his work as bandleader and recording artist of the Mystic Jammers. Mr. Plynton received an Alumnx Legacy Award for his work as Music Director at Brown University's Rites and Reason Theater and is a professional musician that performs with RPM Voices of RI and many ensembles throughout the New England area.

    Event Title:

    Inaugural Day of Racial Healing

    Event Description: Join us for the Inaugural Day of Racial Healing on Saturday, September 4th from 11am - 5pm at the BankNewport City Center, located at 2 Kennedy Plaza in Providence, Rhode Island.
    All communities are welcome to enjoy musical performances by RPM Voices of Rhode Island, Sidy Maiga Drum Circle, DJ Lex Life and other festivities, with Keynote Speaker, Author, and Coach Milagros Phillips taking the stage at 3:30pm. A vaccination clinic will be held nearby the rink.
    This is a FREE, outdoor event and in accordance with CDC recommendations, masks will be strongly encouraged. Screening measures will be taking place to ensure safety.
