Kathy Cadow Parsonnet is an artist and health professional, with over 30 years' professional practice in both health-care and the arts.
Her practice in the field of the arts includes choral music, theater, and the visual arts. She became involved in the Arts and Healing professions in 2001, which included a five-year artist residency at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and the Norris Cotton Cancer Center.
Kathy has an ongoing collaboration with the DHMC Live Well/Work Well program to develop a series of creative interventions designed to improve employee health and wellness, such as the Art-on-the-Job project, Art Works for Health initiative, and Art-in-the-Stairwell program. She continues to offer monthly art workshops for employees.
As a result of her work with populations with temporary and permanent physical or psychological challenges, Ms. Parsonnet created several interactive art forms, one of which is Fraglets Art, which immediately engages people of all abilities in the creative process of art-making. Since 2007, she has designed and used this art form for workshops in all settings, collaborated with hospital and hospice art programs around the country, and sold the materials worldwide.
From 2005 to 2014, Kathy served as an Expert Consultant to the Society for Arts in Healthcare. In this capacity, she consulted with arts, health, and music organizations throughout the country, to help them evaluate and develop their capacity to integrate the arts and health.
When not conducting workshops or consulting with arts and health organizations, Kathy spends her time in her studio at the Tip Top Media & Arts building in White River Junction, Vermont, developing and expanding her line of accessible art materials.
