John Patrick "Pat" Picciano is a puppeteer, mask maker, prop builder, automata creator and multicultural presenter who has performed and exhibited his work throughout the United States and Mexico. While in Mexico, he apprenticed with Juan Horta, award-winning maskmaker from Tocuaro, Michoacan. The Smithsonian Institution, The Museum of Fine Arts in Sante Fe, NM, The Philadelphia Museum of Art and The Currier Museum in Manchester, NH are some of the many places Pat presented his work. He has arranged tours for guest artists from Latin America since 1988. He was awarded an Artist Fellowship from the NH State Council on the Arts in 1999 for his work as a theater artist. Pat has directed the Education Outreach Program for Margaritas Mexican Restaurants and for over 16 years has led tours featuring visiting artists from Mexico. He is a 2017 recipient of The Jim Henson Foundation Grant. The programs offered reflect Pat's interest in combining information with imagination.
