I am a retired University of Massachusetts art professor who contiues to work in ceramics (sculpture) printmaking and drawing.  I am a member of Zea Mays Printmaking studio in Florence Mass.

My practice, in ceramics, printmaking and drawing, focuses on the Vase/vessel. This project began by my making drawings for 3d work. Not all of the drawings could be translated into 3d - these became prints, books and series of large grid-based wall pieces.

In most cases the finished products are anthropomorphic and have attitudes, personalities that ccan be serious, formal, humorous etc.  The different moods come about though mu use of format, size, color, design etc.

I have been an artist for many years.  I am a recipient of many Mass Council grants, an NEA, residencies etc.  I think I have been successful in the development of my work but often have not paid as much focus on getting my work out there.  My using this platform is a way to change that.
