Catherine Stewart

I tell stories of real people using text, multimedia and physical performance. I make theatre - that incorporates dance and film - with, for, and by communities in both traditional and unconventional settings and forms. This work uses inquiry to addresses social and political issues through non-hierarchical collaboration.

In a collaboration between New Hampshire Theatre Project and Main Street Arts, Newfields, NH - I coordinated the creation of the Our Daughters: the Imagined Life of Isabel and Harriet Paul project, which in partnership with the Paul Memorial Library included a Artist-In-Residence program at Newfields Elementary School with the 4th Grade students, in the Story Theatre Method

  • December 2015

In collaboration with Sam Ostrow (Block Six), my play At The Table was produced by 3S Artspace and PinkOrange. The play focused on our complicated relationship to food and was an interactive experience for the audience, who were served food throughout the piece.
