Bashirah is a professional tribal fusion and Sacred Belly dance artist and instructor. She has studied with some of the most respected belly dancers in the country including Rachel Brice, Moria Chappel, and Sedona Soulfire, and has learned to seamlessly fuse traditional Middle Eastern dance styles with modern styles as well as Indian Odissi dance styles to create a beautiful, expressive art.
As an instructor, Bashirah's main goal aside from teaching mechanics and technique, is to help her students discover their own inner beauty, and how to be completely accepting of themselves. From teaching toddlers to focus and move together, to leading dance for teens and adults with the intent to foster self care and build self esteem, Bashirah feels that belly dance is unique in that the dance form allows the dancer to be truly themselves while dancing, and not held to any impossible standard, while encouraging attainable physical fitness.
Bashirah also performs throughout the New England area for both community and private events. Bashirah's performances are always tailored to fit the event type, and are always fun, inclusive, and family friendly.
Bashirah offers group, private, and semi private belly dance lessons starting at $10 an hour per person.
Performance fees vary according to type of event, performance length, travel, ect. and usually start at a base price of $200.
