Ann Kearsley Design (est 1983) is a landscape architecture and urban design firm based in Portland, Maine We specialize in ecologically based landscape design and ecological restoration, linking landscape form and spatial structure to the dynamics of a site's natural systems and the enhancement of ecosystem function. We offer a full range of design services from concept through construction administration, including master planning, site planning, landscape and urban design, stormwater management and planting design, permitting, public process and municipal/planning board review.
Principal / Owner Ann Kearsley is a registered landscape architect (ME, MA, OH, AZ) and urban designer with over 35 years experience designing and building landscapes for individuals, communities and institutions. Her work ranges from summer camps, rural retreat centers and demonstration farms to urban parks and private residential gardens, and includes numerous landscapes for art. Ann holds masters degrees in both landscape architecture and urban design from the Harvard Graduate School of Design and an AB from Dartmouth College. She teaches in the landscape architecture programs at the Rhode Island School of Design and Northeastern University.
