Ana and Mori intermittently exchanged leading and following roles in salsa as a statement that gender identities and partner roles in dance are two different things.

I Have Worked With

  • June 2020

I collaborated with three Latinx organizations in Massachusetts (Hyde Square Task Force, Amplify Latinx, and Ágora Cultural Architects) to showcase at their virtual Cadencia Latina Series: Performances from home. I performed live and taught a class in connection with Brazilian musician and educator Marcus Santos of Groovercity.

  • June 2020

I coordinated a live virtual animation for EventBrite Pride Day 2020 as a Latin Dance powwow in collaboration with Boston Latin dance artists and DJs. The event was donation-based and streamed via Instagram Live.

  • March 2020

I was hired as a visiting artist by Darrin Visarraga in New Mexico. Workshops were produced at the National Hispanic Cultural Center in Albuquerque and Lightfoot dance studios in Santa Fe. Performance was given at the local flamenco theater's latin dance event.
