Amy Baxter MacDonald

I do both still and moving images, using traditional media like oil on canvas, charcoals, gouache, and watercolor, and sometimes transform those still images into animations digitally. I enjoy helping people paint, draw, or animate their stories and visions. Interests that have made it into my art are people, their stories, music, dogs, forests, fields, streams, lakes, oceans, flora, fauna, human rights, humor, well-designed objects, how people arrange their homes, how designers design public spaces, and the physicality of working with traditional materials and observing from life.

I got my first studio in Fort Point and joined FPAC. I have served on the board twice, open for Open Studios regularly, give demonstrations sometimes, and created some animated adverts for LED marquees at the BCEC and Innovation Hall. I've also taken part in several shows in the neighborhood.
