Aaron Larget-Caplan, Virtuoso Classical – World Guitar

Noted for his “astounding technical proficiency and artistic delicacy” by the Boston Musical Intelligencer, classical guitarist Aaron Larget-Caplan is a pioneering recording and touring artist who performs across Europe, Russia, Taiwan, and the USA. He stage presence and charisma attract audience, promoters and musicians alike. A passionate explorer of art in society, he has premiered over 80 compositions, and utilizes many of his own arrangements of music by Bach, Scarlatti, Hahn and Spanish composers. His recordings are available on Albany, Navona and Stone Records (UK). Aaron’s arrangements of the lyrical music John Cage are the first officially sanctioned arrangements of Cage for guitar. An album dedicated to the music of John Cage by Aaron was issued in 2018 by Stone Records to glowing reviews. He is the founder of the New Lullaby Project, a 21st century commissioning and recording endeavor that asks composers to write classical miniatures in the genre of a lullaby for guitar solo. Since 2007 he has premiered 55 new lullabies by 50 different composers from eight countries. Aaron has received numerous awards and grants for his performances, commissions and for bringing music into communities, including American Composers Forum, Massachusetts Cultural Council, New England Foundation For the Arts, D'Addario Foundation, Young Audiences of Massachusetts, and many more. In 2019 Aaron was awarded the Médaille D’Etain from the Société Académique Arts-Sciences-Lettres de France. Born in Oklahoma, raised in Colorado and living in Boston, Aaron is a graduate of New England Conservatory. He is on the Performing Arts faculty at the University of Massachusetts, and formerly at the Boston Conservatory. He plays a guitar by the French master luthier Olivier Fanton d’Andon, and he loves espresso. www.ALCGuitar.com
