WETHERSFIELD ACADEMY FOR THE ARTS

We are a non-profit art academy located in historic Old Wethersfield, CT.  Our location is quite unique because we are located in the restored old Buck Barns located on Hartford Avenue. The Academy embraces several art disciplines where students, working directly with professional artists, are guided and encouraged to develop their unique gifts and talents. We provide opportunities in art classes, workshops, and art lectures for the novice through the professional to benefit from study, apprenticeship, exhibition and performance, and to promote the arts in the best classical tradition for enjoyment and inspiration.

We offer core classes in Bargue drawing, Figure Drawing, Portrait Drawing and Still Life Drawing throughout the year.  We are continuously offering 1, 3, 5 and 10 day workshops all year long for those looking to perfect certain techniques as well as work with different types of mediums and different instructors.  We are very proud and honored to work with instructors Steve Linberg, Kathryn Engberg, Christina Mastrangelo, Justin Wood, Eliza Moser, Nick Frasco, Katie Whipple, John MacDonald and numerous, exceptional world renowned artists.

Every Saturday we have offer an ongoing children’s art class with Nick Frasco. For 6 weeks every summer we also offer a very robust, wide ranging, children’s art program that features numerous instructors.  Ranging from still painting to Anime to printmaking. Please visit our website for a list of adult and youth classes and workshops at www.wethersfieldarts.org
