The Turkish Cultural Center of Vermont is a branch of the Council of Turkic-American Associations. The CTAA is a member of the Turkic-American Alliance (TAA), based in Washington DC. The TAA is a non-government-affiliated, non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote cultural understanding. The Council’s mission is to build a bridge between U.S. and Turkic-Americans, acting positively (not radically) to create events to help Turkic communities to serve their countries. The Council is always working for the benefit of both nations.
The TCC is dedicated to educating and informing the public about the many dimensions of Turkey and Turkish culture and its history; to unite the Turkish-American community and strengthen its relations with the surrounding population by exchanging diversity through sponsorship of various social events. These include classes, lectures, seminars, conferences, discussion panels, luncheons, Turkish Coffee Nights, Ramadan Dinners, visiting Churches and Synagogues, and group trips to Turkey itself. The Turkish Cultural Center of Vermont believes in the improvement of diversity, pluralism and mutual respect for multi-culturalism in society. The organization hopes to be a forum of international cultural exchange, while promoting Turkish cultural heritage.
