Ted Killmer celebrated his 35th year doing arts programming & public relations in 2014. Prior to that, he toured the country as a puppeteer, which led him to a strong interest in the popular arts of circus, vaudeville, burlesque, magic and spectacle. He currently represents CityCenter Danbury, Cultural Alliance of Western CT, and the World Heritage Cultural Center, all based on Danbury CT's Main Street. Throughout his career, he has championed those art forms and organizations that normally wouldn't receive much attention, especially within the "vernacular" and ethnic communities, and has succeeded in introducing them to a broader audience. He is now personally focused on urban awareness, participating in such international events as Jane Jacobs Day and Park(ing) Day, addressing social and environmental issues of today's cities.
