Surcari is a performance group originally from Chile and Puerto Rico under the musical direction of guitarist Lorena Garay. The group performs a blend of traditional and original Latin American, Andean, Afro-Caribbean, Spanish, and world music on a wide array of traditional instruments. Surcari's community concerts are colorful and engaging; school performances are interactive and participatory; lecture demonstrations and professional development workshops are well rounded and enriching. Their artistic and educational programs include irresistible instrumental and vocal music from different Spanish-speaking cultures!

  • "“…Un programa que incluyó un gran concierto del grupo Surcari, con una fascinante mezcla de ritmos de los Andes y el Caribe.”" -Identidad Latina
  • "“The younger children had a great time dancing to the swinging rhythms of Trio Surcari!"” -Adoption Resource Center of Connecticut
