Profile Type: Artist
Stuart Fuchs (aka "Stukulele")

Stuart Fuchs is a multi instrumentalist who is passionate about bringing the health benefits of musical play into everyone's life. He performs virtuosic instrumental music and soulful original songs on Ukulele, Guitar, Native American flute, Aboriginal didjeridoo and the Bolivian charango.  He founded the award winning gypsy jazz quartet "Babik" which was featured on National Public Radio and also collaborated in creating/performing symphonic arrangements of Django Reinhardt's music for symphony orchestras including the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra.

Stuart performs and teaches internationally at schools, universities, and music festivals internationally.  Though his lively, innovative and holistic workshops in both ukulele and free improvisation, he introduces people of all backgrounds to their "long lost musician" - from Fortune 500 company executives to school children and participants at yoga retreats.

Stuart worked as an artist in residence at Roswell Park Cancer Institute for over six years where he lead patients, families and hospital staff in healing creative processes for well-being and emotional release. He has been a featured TedX speaker and in 2014 was awarded a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts for composing healing music for and with cancer patients and performing these multimedia compositions at the University at Buffalo mainstage.

Stuart is an endorsing artist with Kala Ukuleles and Planet Waves.
