I am a Co-Founder of Story-to-Song LLC, a company that helps people compose songs from the stories of their lives. I also hold a doctorate in Sustainability Education from Prescott College in Prescott, Arizona. The focus of my dissertation "Becoming Sustainable: An Autoethnography in Story and Song" was in creating a more sustainable world by beginning with the individual. I coined the term "self-sustainability" and documented my own path to creating a more sustainable life by moving through four specific stages: Awareness, Permission, Change, and Intention.
I am a musician and songwriter, and I write and perform songs from my own and the stories of people from around the world. I lead songwriting workshops for youth and adults and work one-on-one with members of my community to create songs from their spoken stories. I offer songwriting demonstrations and professional talks on Self-Sustainability and Songwriting.
I am classically trained on the piano and hold a BA in European History; French Language, an MA in Environmental Education, and a PhD in Sustainability Education.
My current instrument of choice for performance and songwriting is a tenor ukulele made with love in Washington State by Char and Gordon of www.myamoe.com
My company, Story-to-Song LLC, is a finalist for the Merrimack Valley Winter Accelerator Program!
