Simon Brooks

Award-winning British storyteller, Simon Brooks can be heard telling tales to groups of adults, to families and to children; teaching at schools and colleges; and on his audio book recordings. And he is not too far away - New London, New Hampshire. Why not invite Simon to your venue to perform, and/or work with your students and patrons or organization. With his passion for folklore, myths and legends and his bodhran, Simon combines the intensity of a solo performance with the intimacy of a face-to-face conversation both live and on his albums. His release of the audio book The Epic of Gilgamesh, a retelling is seen as an authentic and captivating retelling for middle school aged students and older. One of the more authentic and accessible tellings, Simon's workshop and performance of The Epic of Gilgamesh is a must for any middle school. His use of vocal characterization has been applauded on both his audio and live work. Simon's exciting and yet calm storytelling delights adults and children alike as was seen when he presented at the prestigious National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, TN in the fall of 2018 and again in 2019. He also graced the storytelling stage at Timpanogos, Lehi, UT infront of 6,000 people in September 2019. Simon has also performed for businesses such as Tmberland, in New Hampshire; and for the American Academy of Matrimonial Laywers in Los Angeles, California January 2020. Simon has recorded five CDs of his storytelling and over eight audio books, and his written work has been published in literary magazines and the National Storytelling Network's 'Storytelling' magazine, on his blog, and as a guest blogger. His first book, "Under the Oaken Bough" a collection of folk and fairy tales, was released in April, 2018. Simon begann his own podcast - Conversations With Storytellers in January of 2019. He has met and interviewed (and continues to meet and interview) some of the top storytellers in the USA. These insightful conversartions can be found on his Patreon page, his webiste, on Stitcher, and is listed on Apple Podcast.
