New American Public Art

New American Public Art is a design-and-build firm at the intersection of public art, architecture, and technology. The projects we create are interactive and engaging audiences on a visceral level. They are visually impactful and aesthetically beautiful, enhancing public spaces and events.

We take pride in being a studio of makers - people who know sawdust, grime, and elbow grease. We are more than just ideas and concepts, we are nuts and bolts. Crafting a project to completion is the part we enjoy most, so we don’t out source out our fabrication unless we absolutely have to. We believe that the fruits of your own labor are the sweetest.

Our multidisciplinary team of engineers, sociologists, architects, and technologists means that we design projects for the real world.

Our services include :

  • Interaction Design
  • Lighting Design
  • Placemaking
  • Fabrication Consulting
  • Idea Generation
  • Data Analytics
  • Lectures

I Have Worked With

  • June 2013

As part of the BCA Temporary Public Art Residency Program we designed, developed, and installed Culture Tap. This project required extensive collaboration with the BCA, as it's site specificity required elements in the plaza trees and gardens as well as inside many rooms and offices of the Cyclorama.

  • December 2012

Snowdecahedrons is a participatory interactive installation. The DeCordova generously offered their beauty park for one such performance.

  • October 2012

Worked closely with the Army staff and maintenance to install Thought Follows Action for TEDx Somerville 2012.
