Laszlo Gardony is a critically acclaimed Sunnyside recording artist, jazz pianist & composer. "Gardony’s playing is luminous and informed by a gravitas reserved for musicians who appear to have soaked in even the most hidden worlds of music" -All About Jazz. Gardony has released 12 albums as a leader, toured in 27 countries, won First Prize at the Great American Jazz Piano Competition. The Boston Globe's "Top 10 Jazz CDs of 2015" included Gardony's "Life In Real Time." Larry Katz (Boston Herald) calls him “a consistently inventive player who combines an ear for melody with a strong rhythmic sense that grabs the attention of even those who normally resistant to jazz.” Jon Garelick called him a "genius" and Dave Brubeck a "great pianist" The group members: John Lockwood (bass), Yoron Israel (drums), Stan Strickland (reeds, vocals), Bill Pierce (sax), Don Braden (sax). Gardony's most recent CD is a critically acclaimed solo piano album titled "Serious Play" (Sunnyside.)
