Kalob Martinez

Kalob Martinez is an actor who combined his professional interests in stage combat and voice acting and found puppetry. EL BETO stands as the culmination of his theatrical endeavors in puppet arts. EL BETO, a one-man hand puppet version of Shakespeare’s Macbeth molded in the world of the Mexican drug cartel, and is performed by code-switching between Spanish and English.

He is currently an ensemble member of Sandglass Theater’s , Babylon. He voiced and served as the puppeteer for Arthur Fiedler twice with the Boston Pops as narrator for “Peter and the Wolf” and “A Visit from St. Nick”. For five seasons he was the associate artist at the Classical Theatre Company in Houston,TX. He has performed as a mascot for the "Tournament Marathon Challenge" and the "Fantasy Football Marathon" both on ESPN. He also assisted in the puppet build for  "The Fanstasy Show" hosted by Matt Berry on ESPN2. Martinez is also a seasoned voice over actor for the English versions of Anime. The most popular titles include: No 6, The Place Promised in Our Early Days, Halo Legends, Bodacious Space Pirates, and Starship Troopers: Invasion.

    The Velcro Show! debuted at the Ballard Institue's Summertime Saturday Show on  28, 2018. 

    Velcro Kitty was king of his block in the big city of Houston, Texas. He knew how to navigate around cars, other cats, and the dreaded dogs, but now he faces a brand new challenge. His people are acting strange and they have put all their belongings in giant boxes–Velcro is worried. In this new Kalob Puppet Co. production, Velcro Kitty travels across the country and faces the challenges of moving to new neighborhood in small-town Connecticut filled with big cats and creatures he has never seen before. Can Velcro be king again? A story about finding your way, making new friends, dealing with bullies, and finding balance. This show is 40 minutes long and recommended for ages 5+.
