I am a printmaker trained in intaglio printmaking and for the last twenty years have employed safer and non-toxic printmaking processes and materials in my work. I have been employing collagraphy and lithography in my most recent series of prints inspired by the material culture of long buried civilizations. The images are a conceptual depiction of pictographs and recovered artifacts rendered with an earthiness that reflects their centuries-long entombment in the ground. I am intrigued by the mysteries that surround these marks and relics and how present day research of their remains can only hint at the complexities of the societies that produced them.
I hold an MFA in Printmaking and an MA in Art History and have taught at the university level. I currently teach workshops in non-toxic printmaking.
