Ginny Joyner ~ artist, illustrator and educator, has had a lively and varied career since graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1986. A freelance illustrator in Colchester, Vermont for 24 years, her clients include Harper Collins Publishers, The Baltimore Sun, Sleeping BearPress, W. S. Badger Co., Gardener’s Supply, VCIA and HoughtonMifflin Publishers among many others.M is for Maple Syrup, A Vermont Alphabet was published in 2003 andcontinues to be an extremely popular history of the state, used in classrooms to compliment programs in Vermont education. She has worked as a decorative painter and restorer specializing infaux finishes, trompe l’oeil and gold leaf. Teaching watercolor in classes over the years at many colleges and craft schools she has become a sought after instructor for beginners and accomplished painters alike. Born in Australia, she has lived in Japan and many states along the East Coast, finally settling in Vermont in 1989. She now lives and worksat historic Fort Ethan Allen in Colchester with her daughter Lucie, folkpainter Howard Riley and their Scottie dog Ringo.
