Evelyn Gant specializes in making and teaching Bobbin Lace. In the Sixteenth Century handmade Lace was highly treasured but today few people even know that the craft exists.

As one of the few lacemakers in the United States, Evelyn has been sought after to exhibit her work in many galleries in New England and to do TV segments for CBS's "This Morning" show and Vermont Public TV's "R.F.D".

Evelyn has studied various lace techniques in England and Belgium. She has also studied with numerous renowned lacemaking teachers from other European countries.

As a lacemaker, Evelyn's goal is to preserve this ancient craft for future generations through hands-on classes, lace history lectures, and preservation projects. For over 15 years Vermont school children have used traditional equipment and techniques to make whimsical designs with Evelyn's help. and adults have found lacemaking an intriguing labor of love.
