Ferry Beach Retreat & Conference Center

Ferry Beach is a 501(c)3 member based nonprofit organization with a mission to awaken hearts to explore, grow and renew the spirirt of universal love.  We work by offering engaging programs and events in the areas of arts & culture, education, spirituality, sustainabiliy, personal growth and justice & action.

Our 32-acre beachfront campus with 19 buildings is a magical place where you could bask in the afternoon sun, take a morning walk through a grove of sunlit trees and enjoy the company of others as they travel along this journey called life. Ferry Beach offers a loving community of people, healthy and delicious food, good coffee, lots of music, and time for peaceful reflection and meditation. Ferry Beach is a place that offers rest and relaxation in addition to an opportunity to step into your greatness. At Ferry Beach, you can experience the joy of community, the challenge of personal growth, and the comfort of spirit.

Our beachfront campus is a collection of meeting spaces, wide porches, an art studio, an outdoor chapel, a performance space, many gathering places and a wonderful dining hall. It is a place of renewal and rejuvenation for families, couples, and individuals and a safe haven for those in minority communities. Ferry Beach accommodations include dormitory style rooms that sleep 1-4 adults,  private rooms with private baths, cottages, cabins and a beautiful tree-lined campground for either tent or RV camping.

Founded in 1901, Ferry Beach is a loving, welcoming community informed by the traditions of Universalism. We believe that the key to making the world a better place, a world that works for all of us, while taking care of our precious planet, is to practice loving compassion and kindness in the form of welcome and care. As an “advance” center, our hospitality seeks to be generative. We welcome the “other,” the stranger, whether that comes in the form of another person, group, idea, critique or species. We practice radical openness to learn about, understand and potentially be changed by the other.  We believe this leads to collaborative and effective efforts to nurture safety, peace and social justice. At its core, this is how we practice loving kindness in intentional communities formed regularly at Ferry Beach.
