Eve Costarelli is a vibrant teacher who brings a refreshing and therapeutic approach to workshops and performances. Building on twenty years of experience teaching to movement, she uses her own unique artistic background to stimulate her students and infuse her programs with dance, yoga, art history, and the love of teaching. Eve can offer 1.Personal flamenco demonstrations that includes a brief history of flamenco, presentation of dances using taped music, and have participants learn some of the basics of flamenco dance; 2.Presentations including live guitar. 3.Choreography commissions. Flamenco! Eve Costarelli & Anthony Tiriti (in collaboration with Young Audiences of Massachusetts) Eve provides the baile (dance) and Antonio the toque (guitar), in a powerhouse demonstration of Flamenco—a genre famous for fiery finger-picking on guitar, precise posture and gesture in movement and above all, dramatic flare and boisterous audience participation! Students will use palmas (clapping rhythms) to follow complex rhythmic patterns and jaleo (calls) to encourage the performers. Between the music and dance, students will learn the roots of a truly multi-cultural art form created by the Roma (or Gypsies) who fused dance from the Spaniards, music from the Moors, song from Sephardic Jews, and spirituality from Northern India. At the end of the performance, volunteers will be called upon to learn a few moves. Post-Performance Workshops Eve Costrarelli teaching a dance workshop Eve Costarelli teaching a dance workshop Workshops introduce students to the physical language of flamenco. They learn its dramatic postures; its hand, arm and footwork and its intense rhythms. They will stomp their feet, clap their hands and snap their fingers as they encounter an art form from a culture in which dancing is a way of life.

“Empowering Challenged Children — Part III: A Program of Yoga and Mindfulness Integrated with the Students’ Academic Curriculum,” at the Fuller Middle School, in Framingham. Eve Costarelli, Open Spirit’s youth yoga teacher, is doing outreach to support students of varied needs–including those with intellectual impairments, Emotionally Developing, physical disabilities and students whose first language is not English. A workshop for Fuller teachers, “An Introductory Toolkit of Yoga and Mindfulness Strategies for the Classroom Teacher,” is took place in March 22015, at Fuller Middle School. In this workshop, Eve shared ideas for teachers to daily begin to develop more focus, reduce stress, and create more nourishing classroom climates for themselves and their students. Eve also was able to kick-off efforts at McCarthy Elementary School, Stapleton Elementary, McAuliffe Charter, Social Skills Summer Program (K-5) and Early Childhood Alliance all of Framingham, MA.
