As a choreographer and dance artist, my past work has focused on improvisation, site-specific performances, and dance-for-film. A common theme in my work is looking at that point where different lives touch but do not intersect. Several stories are often performed simultaneously, and the audience connects the relationships that are revealed throughout the piece. I enjoy working on site specific performances to connect the personal histories of both the performers and audience. My work aims to make the audience more aware of their surroundings. There is always something new to experience, even in familiar places. My creative process starts with a central theme. After researching the topic, I integrate my extensive experience with improvisational performance, and the movement style and personalities of my dancers to tell a non-linear story. In the past, I have examined my life as a twin, the world of our dreams, and the literal tearing down of old buildings to replace them with new architecture.
