CONNECTICUT HUMANITIES COUNCIL

Connecticut Humanities is a 501(c)3 incorporated in 1973 as a state-based affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities. We bring energy and vitality to cultural, historic and civic institutions that tell our stories, build community and enrich our lives. Lifelong learning is core to our mission, achieved through educational programs and services such as: The Connecticut Humanities Fund grants; Book Voyagers to engage children and families in literature; the Poetry Out Loud competition for high school students; our connecticuthistory.org website and Teach It!, its companion resource for educators; and an organization-building program for cultural institutions called StEPs-CT.
