Colleen Ndemeh Fitzgerald

I am an activist, creator, performer, teacher, and thinker in the field of performing arts. My work is movement-based and centers women of the African diaspora, as well as my feminist, antiracist and decolonial politics. My movement comes from Afro-diasporic, West African and Contemporary dance techniques.

I am of Kpelle (Liberia) and Euro-American descent, and was based in Argentina from 2014-2018.

I am an activist in my communities, and combine my dedication to issues of race/gender/class with my art. I am currently collaborating with several artists globally, including my participation in Kukily- International Afrofeminist Arts Collective, along with 3 other women. Kukily creates interdisciplinary work (especially live performance, film and installations) exploring our Black womanhood.

I am available to perform, create original performance/choreographic works, teach practical and theoretical classes, give talks, curate, and consult in a variety of contexts. I am also offering these services online due to COVID-19.
