The Center For Furniture Craftsmanship is a nonprofit woodworking school on the coast of Maine. Programs for novice, intermediate, advanced, and professional woodworkers include Workshops, Twelve-week Intensives, a Nine-month Comprehensive, a Studio Fellowship Program, and exhibitions in the Messler Gallery. The curriculum encourages individual excellence in furniture making, design, and related skills such as turning, carving, marquetry and finishing. The school has an international teaching staff of more than 40 professional woodworkers. Students have round-the-clock shop access, with class sizes generally limited to twelve students served by two full-time instructors. Facilities include three workshop buildings, a turning studio, a library, and a gallery on an 11-acre campus.
