BOSTON CITY SINGERS

The mission of Boston City Singers, Boston’s Acclaimed Youth Chorus, is to provide comprehensive music training to children and youth in Boston’s inner city and neighboring communities. By exploring the world of singing, our singers develop stronger leadership and teamwork skills, experience the power of self-esteem and self-discipline, and enjoy the beauty of artistic expression.
Based at a convenient location in Dorchester, MA, the Boston City Singers currently serves more than 120 young people ages 6 - 18 who meet weekly during the school year in one of five divisions for intensive training, including voice lessons, music reading, and performance skills classes. Our membership has increased six-fold since our pilot program in 1995, and we anticipate further careful growth. This year, we are pleased to partner with the South Boston Children’s Choir, and we will launch the Jamaica Plain Children’s Chorus this spring, furthering our goal of providing accessible arts education to children in Boston’s neighborhoods.
