Bill Harley

A two-time Grammy award-winning artist, Bill Harley uses song and story to paint a vibrant and hilarious picture of growing up, schooling and family life. Recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award from the RI Council for the Humanities, and Honorary Degree from Hamilton College and inducted into the RI Music Hall of Fame in 2016, Bill is a prolific author and songwriter. With classics like Monsters in the Bathroom, You’re in Trouble, 50 Ways to Fool Your Mother and Down in the Backpack, his work spans the generation gap and has influenced a generation of children, parents, performing artists and educators. Bill’s newest project, a book series about the trials and tribulations of fourth grader Charlie Bumpers is filled with his trademark hilarity and heart and has become a popular choice in the One School One Book program.  Described as “the Mark Twain of kids music” by Entertainment Weekly, Bill tours nationwide as an author, performing artist and keynote speaker.
