I am an artist working in the medium of holography. Holography is an art medium and a technology, based in the physics of light, and uses lasers to create works that project three-dimensional images, in space, made entirely of light.
I am concerned with creating art works that bridge technological forms with nature as content, in an installation format, adding computer controlled mechanisms or robotics to alter the lighting or motion in a subtle way The work, inspired by a traditional landscape art, express a concern for the fragility of our environment.
I have an MS in Media from the MIT Media Lab, where I lectured in art and holography for sixteen years. I built the only private holography lab in southern New England and have received many grants and commissions and exhibited my work in three mediums worldwide. In addition, I have created holograms for science museum and taught and lectured all ages in schools in Massachusettes.
