Annalisa Parent-- Writer

I am a certified teacher (Endorsements:K-6; Secondary English pending; Secondary French pending). I was a 2015 Teacher of the Year nominee for my use of strategies to address individual learning styles, which included neuroscience-based techniques, multiple intelligences, and multimodal learning style integration.

I am also a published author, and left formal teaching in 2015 to start my own writing studio. I coach writers of all ages to overcome anxiety and to understand how story works so they know when to follow the rules and when to break them. Understanding story structure creates a firm foundation of competence and confidence, leading writers at all stages to produce quality work.

Lastly, I am well-versed in literature from Easy Readers to Shakespeare, and am comfortable discussing the connection between literature and writing, or other cross-curricular work. (I have years' experience in multi-disciplinary curriculum planning.)

I believe writing should be fun, and that writing is an intimate, tender activity that requires patience and sensitivity-- with ourselves and others.  We will laugh, we may cry, but most of all we'll make beautufu memories and pieces to be proud of.
