I grew up in Odessa, USSR. I have painted ever since I can remember. My first art works appeared on the wall-paper in our apartment when I was 3, then they moved into my school notebooks, occasionally impressing my teachers, and finally when I was 18 they moved onto more civilized medium like canvas. I like to paint everything: people, animals, nature, feelings. I call my style symbolic-surreal-abstract. I am inspired by love, beauty, nature and spirituality.
I used to enjoy big cities, old buildings, theaters, disco balls, music, dancing. Now I prefer nature, fresh air, yoga, stars, though I still love music. I live in the very enlightened state, Vermont, where you can be close to nature and away from the noisy civilization.
I enjoy works of great philosophers like George Carlin and Bill Hicks. My favorite quote from Bill Hicks is:
It’s just a ride. And we can change it any time we want. It's only a choice. No effort, no work, no job, no savings of money. Just a simple choice, right now, between fear and love. The eyes of fear want you to put bigger locks on your doors, buy guns, close yourself off. The eyes of love instead see all of us as one.
