My work as a sculptor for the past twenty eight years has been primarily in the medium of stone from the hardest to the softest, as well from the smallest sculptures to monumental. I have created works in Native Contemporary Sculpture and have created works in the Abstract Contemporary .

Vera Longtoe Sheehan has lectured and exhibited her work both nationally and internationally. She preserves the tradition her ancestors -- the last known Native American New England family making twined, plant-fiber creations.

I weave and market traditional Penobscot ash and sweetgrass baskets. I consult to organizations, museums and tribes and coach other Native American artists in their arts businesses. I am a successful grant writer and have co-curated a number of national exhibitions for art museums.
